Art Auctions Dallas
Art for people — couple on a green sofa in a night gallery

Current lots

Insured shipping (arranged by the seller)

Art leaves the seller’s hands packed for safe transit — the seller arranges insured shipping. If a piece is damaged or lost in shipping, the seller covers replacement cost. In most cases Art Auctions Dallas is not the shipper.

For buyers

  • Every sale includes insured transit arranged by the seller. Art Auctions Dallas is not the shipper unless that lot says otherwise.
  • The seller packs and ships after purchase (unless that lot says otherwise).
  • If art is damaged or lost in transit, the seller covers replacement cost.
  • You’ll get tracking once the seller sends the piece.
  • Questions before you buy? Ask us at info@artauctionsdallas.com.

For sellers / consignors

  • When your work sells, you ship to the buyer unless we agree otherwise in writing.
  • Ship with seller-arranged insured transit for the sale (or agreed replacement) value.
  • Damage or loss in shipping → you cover replacement cost.
  • Pack like a gallery: sturdy carton, corner protection, no contact with the face of the work.
  • Share tracking with us and the buyer as soon as it’s in transit.

Art Auctions Dallas connects buyers and sellers. Unless a lot says we are shipping it, the seller is the shipper and carries insurance and replacement responsibility. Replacement or refund terms are between buyer and seller under the lot terms; Art Auctions Dallas does not insure the shipment and does not guarantee delivery outcomes.

Sell your art

Art Auctions Dallas is built to keep filling with new work — yours, your friends’, and makers we haven’t met yet. Galleries and big online platforms often take much more. We keep it simple, with one flat fee when it sells: We take 15%. You keep 85%. You send the photos and the story. We build the lot page, handle the sale path, and you arrange insured shipping when it sells.

Why sell here

  • 15% platform fee on the sold price — you keep 85%
  • $500 minimum list price (keeps the room serious)
  • Private sale or auction when the piece is a fit
  • You ship with seller-arranged insured shipping (see Delivery) — we don’t warehouse your work
  • Matt, the human Creative Director, curates what goes live. He is available at info@artauctionsdallas.com. Phone on request.
  • Matt Art Directs the photos. A picture you took in a garage can be placed in a setting that fits the sale, and he checks each image before it goes live.
  • The bots help run everything else.

Card payments are taken by Stripe. We do not keep your card number. When a buyer pays by card, Stripe processes the payment and deposits the money into our Bank of America account. We do not pay the artist automatically. After the payment clears, we pay the artist their share directly, one sale at a time, and Art Auctions Dallas keeps 15%.

What we need from you

  1. Title of the piece
  2. Asking price in dollars (what you’d like for it)
  3. Dimensions (height × width × depth, and units)
  4. Materials / medium (oil on canvas, ceramic, mixed media, etc.)
  5. About the piece — explanation, definition, inspiration, or the story behind it
  6. Photos — one clear hero shot, plus a few detail shots (edges, signature, texture)

Optional but helpful: year made, edition info, condition notes, your name and a short bio line.

How it works

  1. Apply online (or email) — title, ask, dimensions, materials, story, photos.
  2. We review — Matt decides what fits the room.
  3. We list — lot page goes up with your words and pictures.
  4. It sells — buyer pays; you arrange insured shipping; payout is per the listing agreement (minus 15%).

Minimum list price $500. Listing fee: 15% of the final sold price, deducted before payout. Timing of payout, chargebacks, returns, and failed delivery are governed by a written consignment / listing agreement — online application or email intake alone is not that agreement. Seller arranges insured shipping; Art Auctions Dallas does not warehouse work and is not the seller unless a lot says Matthew Lowe / Art Auctions Dallas is the seller. Card payments are processed by Stripe; Art Auctions Dallas does not store full card numbers on this site.

About us

Art Auctions Dallas is a warm private gallery and auction for collectors who want beautiful work without the cold auction-house theater. We show paintings, sculpture, and editions with the seller’s description and any history they provide — collectors should review condition and paperwork before purchase. Quiet hospitality still matters: art for people, not for spectacle.

  • Private sales and auctions, side by side
  • Dallas-rooted, built for collectors and consignors
  • Clear lots, clear terms, human follow-through
Matthew Lowe with a ceramic stingray

My name is Matthew Lowe. I'm a designer and curator, and I run Art Auctions Dallas with a small team that helps keep the room warm and the lots clear. I built this site for collectors and consignors who want beautiful work without the cold auction-house theater. Art Auctions Dallas is a listing and sales venue. Matthew Lowe curates what appears on the site; unless stated on a lot, he is not the seller of consignors’ work.

Our process

  1. Browse — open a lot and read the notes. Ask a question if you need to. Write us at info@artauctionsdallas.com.
  2. Buy — you pay the price on the page. Stripe deposits that card payment into our Bank of America account. After it clears, we pay the artist their share directly, one sale at a time, and keep 15%. Then the artist ships the work.
  3. Bid — you name what you would pay. That is only an offer. The piece is not yours until we accept it.
  4. Ship — the seller packs it and arranges insured shipping. You can see the delivery details once it is on the way.
  5. Settle — after the payment clears, we pay the artist their share directly, one sale at a time, and we pass your shipping details so the work can leave. Paying on this site is not turned on yet. Until it is, ask us and we will tell you how to pay.

Questions are welcome. info@artauctionsdallas.com
